un authentique faux masque africain ! ♦an authentic fake African mask !

J'ai trouvé dans une brocante cet après-midi un authentique faux masque africain en bois sculpté. 

Il était dans mes prix, je l'ai donc tout de suite acheté en imaginant le parti que je pourrai en tirer en le peinturant de partout. 

Vous savez comment je suis, je ne peux pas me tenir dès que je vois une surface peinturable, a fortiori en bois !

Je me suis lancée à fond, sans aucun scrupule car il ne s'agit pas d'un objet de valeur mais d'un truc typique fait en série pour les touristes. Ce qu'il ne l'empêche pas d'être déjà joli. Alors vous pensez, après être passé entre mes mains, ce que ce sera !

(Je sais, j'ai des mitaines sur la 3ème photo, mais ma chaudière est en panne.)

Sur la photo ci-dessous, prise une heure après, on voit que j'ai avancé le peinturage.

Il y encore plein de trucs qui vont changer, notamment  l'incrustation triangulaire de nacre, au milieu du front. Je vais enlever ce que j'ai fait et la laisser toute blanche.

Surtout que les spécialistes de l'art africain ne viennent pas me chercher noise !

Ah, et les fautes de conjugaison sur le verbe peinturer sont faites exprès. C'est juste de l'humour défoulatoire de maîtresse d'école à la retraite.

I found in a flea market this afternoon an authentic fake African mask in carved wood.

It was quite in my price, so I bought it right away, imagining what I could do by painting it everywhere.

You know how I am, I can not stand as soon as I see a surface to paint, a fortiori in wood!

I threw myself thoroughly, without any scruples because it is not a valuable object but a typical object made in series for tourists. What it does not prevent it from already being pretty. Then you think, after passing into my hands, what it will be!

(I know, I have mitts on the 3rd photo, but my boiler is broken.)

In the picture below, taken an hour after, we see that I advanced the painting.

There are still many things that will change, especially the triangular inlay of mother-of-pearl, in the middle of the forehead. I'll take off what I did and leave it all white.

Especially that the specialists of the African art do not come to  criticize me...
